The oldest known message in a bottle was found by a Scottish Fisherman named Andrew Leaper who found the bottle in April that has been at sea for over 98 years.

Leaper, 43, discovered the bottle while sailing the vessel Copious along Scotland’s northern coast. According to reports, the bottle was set adrift in June of 1914 by Captain CH Brown from the Glasgow School of Navigation. In 1914, nearly 1900 bottles were released as part of research project that tracked current activity in Scotland. Scottish officials say that 315 of these bottles have been found so far.Additional information can be found at http://www.oddee.com/item_98565.aspx.

A new Guinness World Record was set when Leaper recovered the message in a bottle. Coincidentally, the last record was held in 2006 by a friend of Leaper’s whose name is Mark Anderson. In addition, Anderson used the same Shetland based vessel as Leaper when he found a message in a bottle over five years ago.

Leaper was quite elated to have found the bottle and was equally amazed that it was found by the same boat. Leaper donated the bottle and his Guinness World Records certificate to the Fetlar Interpretative Center in Shetland, which is a locally operated museum.

Soon, Andrew Leaper’s message in a bottle will be on display.

Life Is But a Dream is an autobiographical film about the life of pop/R&B singer Beyonce Knowles. It premiered on February 16, 2013 on the HBO pay cable network. The film was also executive produced and directed by Knowles. It was released in conjunction with her management company, Parkwood Entertainment. The film utilizes a combination of footage from a series of concert she performed over four nights at Revel Atlantic City, as well as private video from her personal laptop and camera footage that was professionally filmed.

The film was a compilation of a massive archive of photographs and film that Knowles had compiled. The archive spans her entire career. It is protected and maintained in a digital storage room located in her offices. The project started to take shape in 2005. It was that year that Knowles decided to have her life filmed, so she hired a visual director.

Prior to the release of the film, Knowles had a reputation of being extremely guarded about her personal life. However, the film shattered those barriers, allowing viewers to experience the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy, her miscarriage and her marriage to Jay-Z. The film also covers her painful decision to end her professional relationship with her manager Matthew Knowles, who is also her father.

The Ziegfeld Theatre in New York was the site for the premiere of the film on February 12, 2013. Knowles agreed to do a special interview on Oprah Winfey’s show Oprah’s Next Chapter as a way of promoting the film. The interview covered her recent halftime show at the Super Bowl, as well as the making of the film and its contents.

The film attracted 1.8 million viewers during its debut broadcast. HBO is available for customers to enjoy at home with http://www.direct2tv.com/directv-deals.html. This was the biggest amount of viewers for a documentary broadcast on HBO since 2004, when Nielsen decided to revise the way they measure viewership. The interview with Oprah Winfrey was watched by 1.3 million people.

Subsequent broadcasts of the film have also attracted sizable amounts of viewers. This has made HBO interested in doing a sequel documentary at some point in the future, after Knowles has compiled enough footage to make such a project possible.

Bronx, New York City – Hip-Hop Mogul Chris Lighty has been confirmed dead by the New York City police in what is believed to be a suicide. Lighty, at age 44, enjoyed an illustrious career and was a pioneer in transforming music artists from singers to financially successful careers outside of music. Examples of Lighty’s success stories include Mariah Carey, Sean Combs, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, and Cee Lo Green, and a list of others. However, in recent years Lighty began to experience financial difficulty compounded by the ongoing divorce with his wife Veronica. The New York Daily News reporting that Veronica did not fight with her husband on the day he committed suicide. Mrs. Lighty believes it was his ongoing financial trouble with the IRS that led him to suicide. Whether that’s true or not, the facts are that Lighty’s $5M debt to the IRS had been paid down to $330,000 and was in the process of being resolved. It does seem somewhat implausible that a debt which leads a person to commit suicide would do so when the debt has been 92% paid off. Chris Lighty died of a gunshot wound to the head by a .9mm handgun. No suicide note was found.

On Wednesday, Robin Roberts, co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America, announced a medical leave of absence for her upcoming life-saving treatments. She quickly left for Mississippi, needing to be with her very ill Mother, Lucimarian Roberts. And sadly, on Thursday, her Mother passed away.

In June, 2012, Robin was diagnosed with a rare blood disease known as MDS (myelodysplastic syndromes), formerly known as pre-leukemia. MDS damages critical, normal bone marrow functions. Bone marrow is the spongy matter, inside all bones, where every blood cell is made.

Robin sent this internet message to her loyal fans: “Dear ones, this is my final morn @GMA for a while.I found some more information here. Heading home after the show to be w/ my ailing mom in MS. You’ll be in my heart & soul.”

What a series of difficult events Robin has faced, and will continue to face, as she searches for real life anchors to save her own life, now. While this week Robin will be saying her final “good-bye” to her beloved Mother, next week she will begin final preparations for her bone marrow transplant. Robin’s sister, Sally-Ann, will be her bone marrow donor. Prior to Robin’s MDS diagnosis, she also fought breast cancer in 2007.

GOP Nominee Mitt Romney announced he will create 12 million new jobs in his acceptance speech Thursday at the Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay, FL. How exactly will Romney achieve a job creation boom in four years? Here’s how:

Fostering Increased Use of Domestic Energy

<h>Increased Use of Domestic Energy</h>
Romney understands that 85% of the world’s energy comes from the hydrocarbons oil, coal, and natural gas. The United States has enough of an untapped supply of hydrocarbons to become energy independent and that is the President’s goal. By allowing domestic energy production to increase will create a job boom. What many people do not realize is that the hydrocarbon energy sector has produced 150,000 patents which are 2.5X the number of patents in alternative energies. If the United States begins to tap into its unexplored reserves of hydrocarbon energies a new demand for private sector technology will increase to supply the means of obtaining that energy. The ripple effect of this alone cannot be underestimated. Currently, the United States funnels hundreds of billions of dollars overseas to purchase foreign energy. As the United States becomes more energy independent that money will stay in the country and get put to use building up our economy.

The Republicans promised a ‘mystery speaker’ at their convention. It turned out to be “Dirty Harry” himself, Clint Eastwood. The Republicans had hoped to warm up those in attendance before Mitt Romney, the Republican presidential candidate, gave his speech. Eastwood had already endorsed Romney earlier in August when he appeared with him, in Idaho, at a fundraiser.

The Academny Award winning actor opened his speech by thanking the guests, who loudly applaused and yelled, and then telling them to “Save a little for Mitt.” He then began his speech pretending to talk to a seated President Obama. The whole story can be found at http://guardianlv.com/2012/09/eastwood-not-senile-he-knew-the-chair-was-empty/ Through his speech he interwines a number of negatives and failures the president has presented the Americans. His theme was that the current president failed to deliver on his promises.

The actor did not receive the rave reviews he received from performing in a number of his movies. Some critics said that the empty chair act was one of the weirdest convention moments of all time. Eastwood was to speak for five minutes; however, it ended up being 12 minutes. Film critic Roger Ebert twitted, “Clint, my hero, is coming across as sad and pathetic.”

The Romney campaign must be asking if Eastwood did, indeed, “Go ahead, make my day.”

Despite early rumors of a drug overdose, the real cause of death of Sage Stallone, son of actor Sylvester Stallone, was a heart attack. Sage, at 36, was the oldest child of Sylvester and Sasha Stallone. The heart attack was brought on by atherosclerosis, more commonly known as hardening of the arteries.
Atherosclerosis results from fat and cholesterol accumulating along the walls of arteries where they harden into plaque. As plague builds, the arteries become narrow making it more difficult for blood to easily flow through them. Additionally, as the arteries become lined with plaque, they also become stiffer. Due to the impairment of blood flow, clots may form and block blood flow, or bits of plaque can break away and move on to block smaller vessels.
For Sage Stallone, a clot or plaque disrupted blood flow to his heart causing a heart attack; atherosclerosis can also result in a stroke or an aneurism. Although the incidence of atherosclerosis increases with age, it can occur at younger ages when contributing factors such as high cholesterol, excess weight, or high blood pressure are present.
Involved in a number of film projects at the time of his death Stallone was also engage to be married.
